still going

I'm still on track with Inhuman - 12,634 words so far. Every time I sit down to write more, I think I'm stuck for what's next but I still manage to keep going. I'll take that as a good sign.

It is cold outside, and I think I'm just about the only one who's happy about that. I like the cold. Even while I'm standing out there drinking tea. I can't explain why -it just makes me feel more alive. I also like the solitude of knowing that almost everyone is hiding indoors. It amuses me to see so many complaints about the cold and the wishing for summer. Finally, I'm the one who's happy about the weather.

I think I've forgotten to mention her before now, but there's a new cat in the house. Kiki was kicked out by a stupid landlord and has found refuge here. She is getting used to Rowan, but Scout is still an enemy. I think that she and Rowan may gang up on Scout a little bit, which, considering the fact that Scout can be a bully, really doesn't bother me. Imp stays in her room and has no interest in meeting a new feline. She is happy being spoiled where she is, and away from any other cats.

And now, time to get writing for the night.

I have always said that it is easier (and possibly more fun) getting warm than it is to cool down.

(So why the hell am I currently living in tropical Singapore, where the average temperature is 34C and the humidity 65%?)

Oh, man, I couldn't handle that kind of average temperature.

When I get stuck I switch tracks - move to a different part of the story or just work on another idea for a little while. Maybe that would work for you? :)

That might work better if I had more of an idea of where I was going with this story.

So far, I've been able to come up with something pretty quickly. The method of "just type something" seems to be working pretty well so far.
